Who we are

Thank you for your interest in our school.

Gawsworth Primary School has a delightful rural setting and is situated four miles south of Macclesfield. It is a well appointed, purpose built one form entry primary school comprising of seven traditional classrooms, hall and library, The school is surrounded by attractive borders and an extensive playing field.  It is excellently resourced with reading books, ICT, science and sports equipment etc.

The school is proud of its happy caring environment and its high level of achievement.  A whole range of educational opportunities is on offer to the children of an academic and recreational nature.  These take place during the normal school day and after school clubs and comprise of Science link with the local High School and Zeneca, computer club, inter-school sports (football, hockey, rounders, netball, cricket, lacrosse, athletics, swimming, cross country, outdoor pursuits, music clubs, musical productions, choir, country dancing and French - KS2) and others.

All children have the benefit of regular homework and parents are kept regularly informed of their children's progress.

We have a thriving PTA which provides a wide programme of social and fund raising events The funds raised are used to cover the cost of all homework books, coach hire for educational visits, the purchase of library books, and computers etc.

The school also benefits from its close links with the village playgroup.
